Lessons Learned from a Year of Blogging

  1. “Give the people what they want. (Sort of).
No one really cares about my broken heart.”

On the contrary, there are bloggers like me on WordPress who are bored of generic “How to achieve ____ ” posts that are meant to provide value/information to the masses, and I’m looking for more personal blogs to read.

P.S. I checked out your Personal Narrative posts and would encourage you to blog more in that category. It was very insightful 🙂

    1. Thanks so much, Loren! I appreciate your encouragement.

Yea, it’s a tricky game. Partly I was being facetious about “give the people what they want” (because the blog isn’t aimed at getting massive readership). On the one hand, certain content “sells,” and on the other, you get to choose who your reader is to some extent. So I guess it’s more about defining for yourself what you want to write and let the chips fall where they may.
